Quick answer
Install the Incision Short Wheelbase H10 Link Set to shorten your H10's rear wheelbase by about 15mm, reusing your factory rod ends for a straightforward swap.
Why shorten the rear wheelbase?
The Incision Short Wheelbase H10 Link Set is designed for use with the Knight Customs Terra Recon body set. Shortening the rear wheelbase by approximately 15mm helps the chassis fit the body properly and can improve clearance and stance for that specific body. This adjustment is not for everyone—if you're running a stock H10 body or a different shell, the shorter wheelbase may not be beneficial, so only use this link set when your body requires it.
What's in the box?
This link set includes two rear lower links and two rear upper links. It does not include rod ends, so you'll need to reuse the factory rod ends from your existing links. Make sure they are in good condition before reusing them, as worn rod ends can introduce slop and affect handling.
Step-by-step install and setup
- Prepare your tools and workspace: Gather a 2mm hex driver, a 2.5mm hex driver, and a small pick or pliers. Remove the rear wheels and place the chassis on a clean, stable surface. This gives you clear access to the link mounts. Check that your hex drivers fit the screws snugly to avoid stripping.
- Remove the factory rear links: Using the appropriate hex driver, remove the screws securing the factory rear upper and lower links to the axle and chassis. Keep the screws and any spacers organized, as you'll reuse them for the new links. Note the orientation of the factory links before removal—this helps you install the new ones correctly.
- Transfer the factory rod ends: Remove the rod ends from the factory links using a small pick or pliers. Inspect them for wear or cracks. Press them onto the new Incision links, ensuring they are fully seated and oriented the same way as before. If any rod end feels loose or damaged, replace it before installing the links.
- Install the new rear links: Attach the new lower links first, then the upper links, using the same screws and spacers you removed. Tighten the screws snugly but do not fully torque them yet—this allows for adjustment. Double-check that the links are not binding against any chassis components.
- Set the ride height and alignment: With the chassis on a flat surface, adjust the links to achieve the desired ride height and pinion angle. Ensure the axle is centered and the links move freely without binding. Once satisfied, torque all screws to spec. Cycle the suspension through its travel to confirm there's no binding before final tightening.
- Test fit the body: If you're using the Knight Customs Terra Recon body, test fit it to ensure the shortened wheelbase aligns with the body mounts. Make any final adjustments to the links if needed. Verify that the tires don't rub the body at full compression.
